North Carolina Central Coast Region

From Dare County to Greene County to Carteret County to Pamlico County

USERL-NCCC Region

We are part of the non-profit, tax deductable USERL organization (Tax ID# 56-2069469).  USERL covers the states of NC, KY, IN, and VA.  The NCCC region takes in Horses that are abused, Malnutrition, and have been abandoned in the eastern part of state. We are always in need of supplies.  With the ecomony the way it is, we are seeing more and more abused and malnutritioned  horses. Our mission is to try to educate the owner's in horse care so the horses can stay at their homes but if that does not work then we are the safety net for the horses.  We can alway use equine feed (Triple Crown senior, Purina senior, Nutrena senior, Southern Senior or feed with 12% protein/12% fat), shredded beet pulp, hay extender, hay and mineral/salt blocks. We can use different types of dewormers (i.e. Strongid C, Ivermecten base,  praziqantel base).  For other need items see our wish list.  Please help wherever you can.  Please contact the our Adoption/Foster Coordinator if you would like to donate any of these items for the horses in need.  Her email is ncccrescue@yahoo.com.

At this time NCCC has 30 horses in our care.   We have fosters and volunteers taking of them round the clock.  We need your support to help them.  There are 19 horses looking for a permanent home for someone to love them.  Could it be you?

Help us!!!

You can help with fund raising for the horses  when you buy items for your horse online through CountrySupply.com.  When you order your items be sure to add the Country Supply Country Care Code of: USERLNCCC. We will get 5% of the amount you spent.
Remember every dollar helps.  Country Supply has all kinds of horse related items.  Check out Country Supply which is now called Horse.com.

We are in dyer need for fosters.  We need fosters to take a horse that need handling and training.  We need to make them adoptable.  These particular horses have been through rehab and are ready to become someones companion.  Some of the horses only have ground manners and handling, others need to be broke to ride or drive or both, or just get miles under saddle.  USERL-NCCC will try to help with the cost of fostering.  Being able to pay depends on how much money we have been able to raise through the year.  That is why fund raisers are so important to us. It is through fund raisers and private and public donation that allows us to pay our fosters.   Since November of 2008, USERL has taken in over 130 horses, and we have run out of room with fosters and rehab barn space.
Please help if you can.  Fill out an application to foster.

March 21

On March 21 we had our Horse Festival at the Craven County Fairgrounds (on HWY 70S) outside of New Bern.  If you did not come you missed out on a lot of fun and educations. We helped our horse a lot.   Grayson one of the USERL-NCCC horses became an ambassador for the League's horses. Everyone (KIDS and adults) came running up to him and he just lowered his head and said "HI".  Parents were taking pictures of their kids with Grayson.  He was loving all the attention.  The kids all enjoyed their pony rides thanks to the Pamlico County Horseman's Association.  John Beachel of RafterJC Breeding and Training Center did a wonderful job of teaching the spectators about training and horsemanship with his Stallion as well as with Hope one of the League's horses.  Hope had been worked with last year but was to small to be ridden.  This year he was able to work with her and saddle her and sit on her.  The pen was to small to try to ride her forward very much  but was able to get some forward movement.   Suzy Q (one of our Mustangs) was worked with by Tammy Croon.  It was impressive as she placed an opened umbrella on top of her as well as a blanket on her face.  She just chilled out.   Go to the Photo Gallery(Horse Festival  09 Album) for more pictures
